Birkbeck Connected !

3 FANTASTIC events in partnership with Birkbeck, University of London in the Stratford Cultural Quarter, east London! Hundreds of people came to Stratford Picturehouse, Stratford Circus and the Theatre Royal Stratford East to celebrate the opening of University Square, Birkbeck's new campus with the University of East London. New Media Networks produced and filmed the events and audiences saw 3 new commissioned works for each venue - a compilation of film sequences about east London from Ed Christie, an amazing ariel dance piece from Laura-Anne Smith and a funnny and moving poetry/theatre event by Stratford East's Young Poets.

The panels sparkled - Gavin Poole, Sophie Hope, Alvin Carpio, Vivian Archer, Amica Dall, Hadrian Garrard focused on the creative economy; Hugh Muir, Jerry White, Andi Osho, Stella Duffy, Freddie Opoku-Addaie explored real and imagined east London, and  Ruth Mackenzie, Sarah Weir, Emma Underhill, Kerry Michael, Jay Miller, Rob Swain and Ben Cranfield probed how much audiences matter. They were all thoughtful, provocative, funny and inspiring. Last but not least, the audiences challenged with their questions and points, more than ably supported by the charismatic, insightful and inimitable Henry Bonsu from Colourful Radio.

Well done brilliant Birkbeck for commissioning this first for the Stratford Cultural Quarter ! Read all about them here:-
